Mr. Lynn Swann was born in Alcoa, Tennessee. His family moved to San Mateo, California when he was two years-old, spending summers in Tennessee and getting his education in California.
A star high-school athlete, he earned All-America honors and accepted a scholarship to the University of Southern California (USC). There he played in two Rose Bowls, helped the Trojans win the 1972 national championship, and was elected team captain and most valuable player (MVP) in 1973. He graduated from the USC School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations.
A first round draft choice by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mr Swann enjoyed a stellar, nine-year NFL-career, playing a critical role in the Steelers four Super Bowl championships, including being named the MVP of Super Bowl X. He was inducted into the Pro-Footbal Hall of Fame in 2001. Mr. Swann began a broadcasting career while still active with the Pittsburgh Steelers and moved to a full-time broadcasting career with ABC Sports upon his pro-football retirement in January 1983.

He has traveled across the country, testified before Congress and visited the White House on behalf of the nation’s premiere one-to-one mentoring organization.
It is this community leadership, along with other qualities, that led President George W. Bush to ask Lynn to serve as the Chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
Lynn currently sits on the board of directors of H.J. Heinz Company, Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, Harrah’s Entertainment, Empower Software and Transdel Pharmaceuticals. He is also the Managing Director of Diamond Edge Capital Partners, a financial marketing firm.
