This opportunity will allow the Fellow to contribute meaningful work under the guidance of Corkboard Concepts while telling impactful stories about Pittsburgh Gateways’ partnerships and successes.

Responsibilties: 

  • Develop compelling narratives about two or three employers who have partnered with Pittsburgh Gateways in the last two years to find new pipeline employees from underserved communities.
  • Create multi-format media, including videos, social media content, and written stories, to showcase Pittsburgh Gateways’ impact on local businesses and communities.  
  • Work closely with Corkboard Concepts’ team for guidance and feedback on storytelling, video, and marketing strategies.  
  • Ensure all content aligns with Pittsburgh Gateways’ mission.

    The Project Management/Support Intern will assist in the research, planning, and completion of various council projects. This role provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management, coordination, and strategic development.

    The successful candidate will create a product program volunteer recognition program, which includes:

    • Researching recognition programs at other councils
    • Reviewing findings with product program team
    • Writing descriptions of recognitions/awards
    • Collaborating with the council’s  marcomm team on copy and visuals, as well as how the recognition appears on our website

The intern will also take the lead in crafting and executing a social media strategy for LinkedIn, using data-driven insights to optimize our online presence. This role provides hands-on experience with industry-standard tools like Active Campaign, Canva, and Google Analytics, as well as the chance to collaborate with web developers.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote Hardly’s mission and products.
    • Create engaging content for social media, with a focus on LinkedIn.

      Web Development Intern

      Job Description:

      Hardly is looking for a web development intern that will assist our COO in creating new features and improving existing features on the Hardly Web Application. Hardly is a platform of career development tools built with collaboration in mind. These tools (AI resume builder, cover letter generator, job application tracker) can be used by individual job seekers or with the help of career coaches at job centers. The app is built using PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, and MySQL. It is built on the Laravel PHP framework, and uses VueJS and Tailwind. Experience with these languages and frameworks is a plus, but not a requirement. The intern will be responsible for developing an exciting new feature that will be reviewed, tested, and pushed live to be used by our customers!

      Internship Goals 

      • Develop a new feature for the Hardly Web App.
      • Assist in testing and QA.
      • Participate in weekly team stand-ups.

      Learning Opportunities

      The intern will learn to work within a startup environment and will be a valuable member of the team. They will learn or become more adept with the above listed technologies and frameworks, as well as the software development life cycle in general. They will also learn to communicate their progress and ideas to non-technical stakeholders, a key skill for a software engineer. As an addition to a small team, they will learn to take responsibility for a feature from idea to implementation and beyond.

      HEARTH’s Data Analyst Intern to support our mission of empowering women and children experiencing homelessness and domestic violence. This position will provide hands-on experience working with HEARTH’s CRM system, Insync, to analyze data, build dashboards, and provide insights that inform program outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data analysis, attention to detail, and a desire to make a meaningful impact in the nonprofit sector.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Extract and organize data from HEARTH’s CRM system (Insync).

        We are creating a film through our Genesis Collective Media Institute that documents the history of Black Aliquippa. Aliquippa is a community once thriving because of J&L Steel. It is rich in connections to the steel industry, labor unions, immigration, community development, Black culture, and now de-industrialization and its fallout. Our project is a passion project of one of our lead artists, an Aliquippa native who lost her father before she could collect all his stories. With that in mind, under the mentorship of our filmmaker this Aliquippa daughter has interviewed local elders and is working to create a short film. This project is a piece of Aliquippa’s creative renaissance. These interviews and preparatory research have disclosed many avenues for research that, once understood, will enhance the film and its related project, a digital archive. It will also provide the basis for iteration of future history projects.
