Kickstarter is way for people to fund projects presented by entrepreneurs. The website works by allowing people to create and present an idea and set their funding goal. This project will then be available to be viewed by the public which can pledge money towards the project. In order for the project to be funded they must reach 100% of their funding goal within the time deadline. The funding comes from “backers” who find an interest in the project and would like to see it completed. In return for pledging money to a project, the backers have a possibility to receive or experience the finished product.
This website seems to be very innovative in their way for allowing anyone to present their project ideas to others and receive funding. Some examples of projects that are listed on the website include apps, books, artwork, and many other things. I would recommend giving the website a visit!
I have been on kickstarter for about two years now and I think it has truly revolutionized the way entrepreneurs can get started. Crowdsourcing is a great way for inventors to keep their equity and also make sales before they actually have a finished product. It is essentially pre-ordering an item and getting a good discount because you put your faith into that person.
