The SAFR Challenge

A Physics Innovation Competition at Grove City College

Sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurship + Innovation at Grove City College in conjunction with Dr. Glenn Marsch, Professor of Physics, Grove City College, The SAFR Challenge is an innovation competition that tasks students with developing and creating stylish but functional concussion-prevention headgear for wheeled recreation.

Students in Dr. Marsch’s and Dr. Wolinski’s SCIC 201: Fundamentals of the Universe workshop spend time planning, developing, and testing their headgear, in an effort to create the best concussion-preventing headgear based on a combination of factors:  comfort, appearance, cost, and force reduction. The top teams from the class will advance to the finals!
